Some more Christmas

I just love all the sweet Kitchen trees I have seen around blogland.  I don't have room for a tree but I thought I could put together a wreath.  This is really 2 - dollar wreaths that I wired together to make it fuller.
See the little measuring cup....was mine when I was a girl.  The rolling pin is from Amish country in Michigan.
I put my mom's favorite Christmas cookie cutter...and the little round pan was what my mom would make me a cake in when she did a full size cake.  I have kept it all these years!

This little tree is on a small curio in our hallway.  I just put the tree on a pedestal.  I love the garland...it is snowballs.  All the little ornies are for my grandchildren...someday.  I buy new ones each year.  See the little gingerbread man.  My daughter bought that for me when she was about 14 at a school bazaar...oh, if you ever come over, trust me, there are 100s of stories like that....all over this house.  See Laurie....I collect stuff too!!!

You will get a chuckle out of this...well, I did.  I made both my kids boxes of Christmas ornies from their childhood.  And I added some items that I didn't feel I needed to use anymore.  Well, I went through those boxes and some of the things came back in for me to use....hey, I didn't give them to them yet...so technically, it wasn't taking a gift back!!!

What an adorable kitchen wreath. Love wreaths that are out of the ordinary and fun and what better place to hang a wreath than the place we spend so much of our time. So sweet to put your mom's cookie cutter.

My daughter and I started collecting Hallmark ornaments in the 80s when she was a young teen. She has the entire rocking horse collection and most of the Crayola ones. Then when collected the Star Trek ones and still does. I began my grandchildren a collection when they were born. Wonder Boy gets snowmen and the Princess gets Angels. Plus whenever I make ornaments I save the girls one.
I have a kitchen tree but really don't have room for it...I like your wreath...the best ornaments are those that have stories. I bought some of the little tags and tie those to my ornaments to tell who made them or gave then and the year....I love it.

Great idea to make a wreath for the kitchen. The things you put on it are so cute and how wonderful to be surrounded by those special memories at Christmastime.

Your kitchen wreath is great! I have several little things from my childhood kitchen toys. You've inspired me - maybe I'll put together a wreath and use them some Christmas. Not this one - I'm already far behind schedule!

Ceekay, I love your kitchen wreath! how wonderful that so many memories are attached to that wreath. Your little Christmas tree is adorable, and so smart of you to start collecting ornaments for the grandchildren. What a wonderful gift that will be for them some day. I love anybody who is a collector and a keeper, and you are both. Guess that's why I love you! laurie
