Favorite Things Saturday #2

Today is another edition of Favorite Things at Laurie's. This meme could last me a long time because as I said before, if it is in my house, it is a favorite thing!

I love crocks. I have them all over, but there are 2 that are my favorites. When we moved, they get safety belted in the back seat. Just like the new HomeGoods commercial!

My first favorite crock is my butter churn. I saw this about 30 years ago at an auction. I HAD to have it. I dug my feet in the sand and started bidding. My husband is getting nervous....but I won it for $40.00. It is in nearly perfect condition. Next to it is another smaller crock with some of my rolling pins. The little chair is one I used to sit in at church.

The is the emblem on the front of the butter churn.

This huge crock I bought at another auction probably 25 years ago. I just love it. What is inside...well, dishes of course! Any nook and cranny and you will find dishes!!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I am anxious to show you tabletop Tuesday this week. I bought something that I have been looking for a long time!! See you then!

OH MY!! I would seat belt those too when I sneak them out of your house! They would be my favorites as well. I love old crocks too.

I love crocks, too. They are all over my house. Years ago, when my Dad found out I liked them; every once in awhile he would bring me one from the family farm. He found them all over in the out buildings. I cherish them, knowing that my grandmothers used them as part of their daily life. Hope you are feeling well enough to enjoy the weekend. Sally

I love those old crocks, too, Ceekay. I have a butter churn bought at an auction about 25 years ago. It's plainer than yours but does have something on it. Mine is all grey and it looks like it has the original dasher.

Oh Ceekay, you know that I love all of your things including your crocks. I don't remember all of your rolling pins. I guess I was too busy looking at everything else. Love them all. Can't wait for Table Top Tuesday. Hope your day is a super one. Hugs, Marty

Happy Weekend (almost!) Ceekay! I LOVE those crocks....and I have NEVER seen any with stars on them! It's a good thing my pal Bonnie isn't close to you, cuz she's crazy about anything with stars...and she'd probably try to get them! :)

That auction looks like fun!!!

It's stormy here tonight..but it's good for the lovely Spring plants.

Oh, I love it Ceekay!
Those are some wonderful crocks!
When I was a little girl my Mom used to take me to auctions all the time. She bought a butter churn like that and many crocks for about a quarter a piece. Can you believe it? That's when no one wanted them. Hugs, Cindy

I love crocks too. I don't have any though. I'll just have to enjoy yours. :)

I don't have an answer for you regarding the emails. Just leave your letter verification on. I have been getting Asian comments that have links to nasty sites. You have to delete those right away to. Even the word verification doesn't stop those. There is always someone to spoil the fun. :(

I love how you use the one crock for rolling pins. Maybe you could tell about them one day. I have some cream crocks and brown and white crocks that belonged to grandmothers to hold food and milk in spring houses on the farms. Even though they are plain, I wouldn't give them up for anything.

Ceekay, those babies deserve to be seat belted in the car. There is no telling what that butter churn is worth. You really got a deal on that. What a cute little Sun. School chair-how neat that you have that. You also have some great rolling pins in that other crock. I would love to visit your home and see all of your wonderful collections in person. I may have to start looking for crocks (especially now that you've given me the idea of storing china in them-brilliant!) Thank you for linking this to Favorite Things. laurie

Hello there!

Just looking at your photos takes me back to a time when life seemed simple, when there were no real issues to deal with .... I love your crocks and now I wish I had purchased a few when I had the chance. I'll continue to look!

Oh, I love crocks too. My grandmother and grandfather have a large collection. It is a fun object to collect. Even better when you can fill them with more collectibles like rolling pins. Which is exactly what my Grandma did also, she has a huge collection of old cookie cutters in one. Thanks for showing us yours.:)

Hi Ceekay...

Well, that makes me chuckle....nothing like finding every little nook to hide dishes. :-) I can so relate to filling every little spot. LOVE your crocks. They are just yummy.

Huggies,

Love your crocks! The one filled with rolling pins makes me smile. I had my mom's old rolling pin and my mother-in-laws, but my I think my husband tossed them one time when he was cleaning things out. Either that are they are packed away somewhere. I can't seem to find them. So it is fun to see yours!

I also love and collect crocks. On one of my favorite crocks, while moving, chipped the lid. Maybe I should of had the seatbelt on. :)

I love your butter churn.

I rarely see any crocks when I'm out junking! Wish I had one.
Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
