Just Feel like Chatting!

I went to the movies with my husband yesterday. Our kind of date...I go see my movie, he goes sees his! I saw When In Rome. I don't recommend it. It should have been a made for TV movie. It was cute but poorly done, I thought. Anyways, I love to see the upcoming clips. And guess what is coming out??? Alice in Wonderland. Whoopee. Nope, I won't be seeing that one.
Never read it, never saw it. Why you ask.
Let me tell you!

It scares the living daylights out of me! Now, don't be surprised. I also have never seen in entirety, the Wizard of Oz. Don't like that either. Oh, I have tried. It was just on again. I can watch it until Dorothy is in Oz...she isn't in Kansas, and I isn't in the same room! I don't know if it the flying monkeys, or the melting witch...but NO!

Now, I know this may come as a surprise to some of you. But this doesn't come as a surprise to me. When I was young and I had to leave the house...ie, school, spending the night away...I turned all my dolls to face the wall. My mom asked me why I did that...my reply was, "I don't want them talking while I am away!"

So you see, this is not new. My husband to this day when I see something incredible on TV...and I say, how could that happen? He says....Hon, it is a movie...it isn't real!

Ok, all you smarties that think I have issues!!!! You have them too...you just haven't mentioned them YET!

I can't stand Alice in Wonderland either. Could never get through that book. Then in my late teens I learned that the author, Carroll Lewis or is it Lewis Carroll wrote the book based on his migraine headaches. Of course, since I get monster migraines I could now understand why I hated the book.

Hi Ceekay,
I have missed you and thank you for stopping by and your kind comments.

I love this post and honestly I say the same thing to my hubby about different things when watching a movie. He always says, it's only a movie, it's not real !!
Small world.

I love your header with the gorgeous cup and saucer sets. Sweet little teddy is adorable too.
Also enjoyed your silver posts. Gorgeous treasures!

Love to you, Celestina Marie

Funny Ceekay!
Those dollies are so cute!! That's one way to not argue about what movie your seeing! I love Wizard of Oz, it's my all time fave movie, but I would always cry when Dorothy was held hostage in the witches castle! Too Scary! Hugs, cindy

Oh CeeKay sweetie...
You are just the sweetest little thing. You are so right, we all have issues. Mine are clowns. They scare the livin daylights out of me. Anytime I have been given one, goes in the GoodWill bag. I truly believe they come to life at night. Something about their faces. I don't go to a Circus either.

Yep, see I too have issues. I wonder what others of us are out there? I'll be checking back on this post.

Love ya sweetie. Hope you are having a good week.

Country hugs and so much love...Sherry

Ceekay, you cracked me up this morning.

When in Rome looks like a renter to me too. I'm going to pass on it. You know what scares me to death? Vampires and werewolves and devilish movies. I will not see them. Everyone I know has read and seen the Twilight movies. Not me!!

My daughter just asked if I wanted to see that movie today. Now, I'm not sure. Maybe we should see another one.
I saw Wizard of OZ at the movies when I was very young. I would say it was before I started school. I don't remember it scaring me.
When I get into a movie, I tend to think of it as real too. Watched 3 hours of LOST last night. I'm still trying to figure out the time-space, parallel thing that allowed them to be in two places at oncel

I think that is the same Bride Doll that I had when I was young.

Hmmm, I love Wizard of OZ! Even though when I was young the monkeys and the witch scared the living daylights out of me, lol. I'm with ya there! As far as turning the dolls toward the wall, odd yes....but, again as a child, if I didn't get a Black doll for Christmas, I cried! I loved them! They were my chocolate babies!

Ceekay, you crack me up. I am always being told it is just a movie too, but I just don't like to watch certain things. I have seen the Wizard of OZ though, it really does end well. Hope you have a super day. Hugs, Marty

You and Kaitlyn have something in common! She's the same way.

Your dolls...I think I had the same ones. The one on the left came in a pair of pajamas, a red top, with white bottoms that had red hearts in them. The one on the right had an emerald green formal on with a tiara type headpiece and a short green veil. But the dolls look the same. I still have the one on the right, but the one on the left, when we took it out of storage (the cedar chest), Kirk accidently stepped on it, and it shattered into little tiny fragments. It apparently had dried out. So, I never take the green one out, because I'm afraid the slightest touch will make it shatter too.

Thats funny about the dolls! Well,my issues I guess are Harry Potter and Moonlight...the first HP I went to there was this ugly monster sucking the blood out of the unicorns neck, I thought, oh, great movie for kids! And I hat vampires and all of that. I think I'm the only woman in the world who isn't in love with all of it! Come say hi :D

Funny post, Ceekay. While I love the Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland didn't do a thing for me.

I never thought of that with my dollies. How clever you are! Mine were constantly talking about me behind my back.

I love The Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland. But yet another fantasy/fairy tale movie with Johnnie Depp in the lead -- that's something that scares me!! I think I'll just wait until it comes out on DVD.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. And I love your teacups.

Just now checking out your last two posts. I've never been into fantasy of any kind - I want to watch real, non-scary, happy ending stuff. Don't think I ever turned my dolls to the wall, however; - they must have talked a lot about me in my absence. Loved your new batch of silver stuff - I've always wanted some silver holders to use for buffets. Take care, Sally

I have to admit I didn't know that story about you. Never saw the Wizard of OZ???? I'm shocked! lol
It is a scary thing for kids to see.
We all have our issues in form or another. lol

Well, C, I did know that about you...I've known you for 30 years! No crime in getting lost in a movie though! For the record, I have NO desire to see that movie either. I've never liked the book or the movie. Wonder why so many people don't care for it. Maybe it's a little like the clown thing! Does anyone like clowns???

I believe I have rejoined the living today. Yikes...I was so sick! The morning I taked to you was the worst morning I had all week...lucky you!

Take care, my friend...I'll be talking to you sooon.

Cute post-
xoxo...Kathy

We all have issues. I once bought a little troll doll back in High school and had to take that thing out of my room as it scared me when I woke up to go to the bathroom and those beady little glow in the dark eyes were looking right at me. To this day I can't stand the sight of a Troll doll:)

Up until I was in my 20's I couldn't watch W.O.O. Hated those flying monkeys, still do. :)
My daughter did a term paper on Lewis Carroll. He was one strange man. Still, I will be going to see the movie. Tim Burton is one strange man too but I do love his movie sets. :)

Oh my gosh Ceekay. I love the Wizard of Oz. I love every scene in it. (except maybe the tornado)(made me never want to go to Kansas) I love the flying monkeys, the apple throwing trees, the munchkins, the melting witch, Glenda, the good witch...all of it. Does that make me strange? I don't care for Alice in Wonderland too much though, so can we still be friends? Please!
hugs

Ceekay,
You are so funny. Love your last comment. Yes we all have some issue.... I have never cared much for "Alice" , the story is just too out there for me. But I love the "Wiz" it really has a great story line to it, and moral lessons. Thanks for the heads up on the movie you saw. I will wait to it comes out on video.
Blessings always!
Gwen

Ceekay~ Those flying monkeys scared me each and every time I'd watch them in the Wizard of Oz.
I still can't figure out what they really were. Actors or real monkeys?

As for Alice in Wonderland, in high school when the song came out it implied Alice's journey was caused by hallucinogenics. That turned me off. It is a tad bazaar.

Sweet wishes,
Sara
