I'm in a Singing Mood

I think a while back I mentioned that I am a soloist. Many a song I have sung in churches over the years. I remember as a young girl, gathering around my grandpa or aunt's piano, and singing the old hymns. My grandpa didn't stand for no simple whispering singing. You were supposed to sing like you meant it! Well, the Lord gave me lungs and I can belt out a song. This week many songs have calmed my spirit. Sometimes when I can't sleep, I start with A - Amazing Grace and sing through the alphabet...B - Blessed Assurance...C - Count your Many Blessings and so on.... so, today I am sharing the words to two songs I love. In my heart and in my home, I am singing them...

My Hope Is in the Lord
WAKEFIELD

My hope is in the Lord Who gave Himself for me
And paid the price of all my sin at Calvary.

Refrain:For me He died, For me He lives,
And everlasting life and light He freely gives.

No merit of my own His anger to suppress
My only hope is found in Jesus' righteousness.

And now for me He stands Before the Father's throne.
He shows His wounded hands and names me as His own.

His grace has planned it all, 'Tis mine but to believe,
And recognize His work of love and Christ receive.

Refrain:For me He died, For me He lives,
And everlasting life and light He freely gives.

UNTIL THEN

My heart can sing when I pause to remember
A heartache here is but a stepping stone
Along a path that's winding always upward
This troubled world is not my final home

But until then my heart will go on singing
Until then with joy I'll carry on
Until the day my eyes behold that city
Until the day God calls me home

The things of earth will dim and lose their value
If we recall they're borrowed for a while
And things of earth that cause this heart to tremble
Remembered there will only bring a smile

But until then my heart will go on singing...
Until then, with joy I'll carry on
Until that day, my eyes behold my Savior
Until that day, God calls me Home.

Thank you for all the prayers. They help tremendously. Yes, I am scared. I am disappointed. But, I am hanging on to my Jesus. This is not bravery. I am not trying to be strong. This is ALL I Know.

I am going to church today and singing my little heart out! See you on Tuesday.

Faith in our God is all we have in the midst of it, isn't it? You already know that I am praying about ten hours a day. I know many, many others are too. God hears.

Your voice is beautiful. It was so special that you sang at my Dad's funeral.
I miss those days when we were back at V.D.B. and had your grandparents and other old timers still with us. I'll never forget your grandpa's handshake or the size of his hands.
You are in the hands of the almightly and he covers you there.

I also sang "Until Then" in church many times when I was a young girl. I had almost forgoten about that song. My mom loved it. We sang together. Thank you for reminding me of it.

I didn't know you sing solos! I wish I could hear you sing! The Lord hears your singing and praising and He honors this, especially in the midst of a storm.

I'm praying.

I bet you have a beautiful voice too. The last time I tried to sing, the dogs started howling. I'm not sure that was a complement on their part. :-)

Thank you for your kind words about my blog. Now I know where you are as well....The pillows are sewn by a friend of mine here in Texas. They are beautiful and I am totally addicted to them. She has a space at Lone Star Antiques which is where she sells them from. If she makes more I will post them and see if anyone in blogland may want to purchase some. They range in price from $38.00 to $49.95. Glad you are on the road to recovery. Love Tiina...

Good choices. You know I'm praying - and singing my own songs for you... "He's able, He's able, you know He's able...you know our God is able to care for you." or "When peace like a river attends my soul...It is well, it is well with my soul....."

love ya,
Connie
