wow, what a party it was. Today I will post the decorations. Then the guests and gifts. If I did it all at once, you probably would need a glass of wine!
The theme was vintage......so into the hopechests I went and decorating began.
The party was held outside on our patio. The color were mostly pink and aqua.
Everyone as a favor received a vintage pair of gloves with a tag with their name. Each tag was different.
I had old cameras and pictures of me throughout the years...
Hankerchief boxes, old curling irons...
Vintage teapot, my mom's crystal with candy and nuts....those are my cereal spoons and my mom's wedding tablecloth.
In the very center was this darling mason jar centerpiece my hubby got me from CB.
My old Tiny Tears doll, holding a vintage coin purse and my baby bracelet.
Old buttons, and my curlers when I was a toddler. All the pictures were held up in flower frogs.
Another pair of my baby shoes....
My singer sewing machine table held more family momentos...
My cradle roll certificate from church and my hand print from Kindergarten.
This is one of my baby blankets....
A colorful quilt for backdrop.
My old school desk has my Kindergarten paint apron inside are pics of my grandkids.
The top held my Autograph books and a Life magazine from February 1954.
My boy doll on a chair from my SS class.... He is wearing a outfit my Aunt Esther made for my doll and the sweet hat is my hubby's....
On the food table was my mom's jewelry box filled with vintage jewelry and my baby ring in the card.
Oh, it was so pretty and I believe everyone enjoyed looking at all the "vintage stuff"!....
Till next time....

Ok, I admit it....I am cheap!
My husband accidently broke one of my ORANGE gazing balls. I had two. So I went on the hunt to replace them.
Holy Moly!!! They are expensive. I found my ORANGE ones at an estate sale years ago, stands and all for a dollar. OK anyhoo....
I do NOT have nor will I spend 50 plus dollars for 2 gazing balls. I mean, mercy, I could get a lot of stuff at an Estate sale for fifty dollars.
Ok, so then what do I do? I went to HL with my hopefully future DIL and found 1, one boxwood ball. $8.00. Hmmmm, remember my boxwood wreath.
We looked everywhere, but was the only one. So after chemo Tuesday I went to another HL and there it was. My other boxwood ball. Yeah!
I think they look really cute. and $16.00??? Ok, I will spend that!
I put the surviving ORANGE one on the other side of the MH.
And I took a few snaps while I was out there!
I had to copy one of my neighbors.....She found the Solar Mason jar....I had to have one!
Here is a small nod to Valentine's day.....
I didn't show my Christmas gift from Candy.....it is a similar dog to Bentley....he is not a Westie, but he is white and fluffy and does shake hands with his left paw!
I put a treasured scarf on his neck that my friend Melody embroidered for me.
I got this plant at an estate sale for $6.00. My ficus was no longer green. I know this won't last long, but it added some color. The sun fades everything in Phoenix. So you can't get too attached to decor outside. It all has to be repainted, replaced about every 2 years.
Well, there you go....my big update to my yard!!

blue????
My hubby is not really overly observant over my decorating.....(putting it sweetly)
So, you can imagine my surprise when the other day he says, "I don't know why, but I love that in your glass thing."
OK! that is really close to a decorating compliment.
This was a gift years ago....when I was in the cutesy country faze and had a LOT of blue. Now I have hardly any blue. But this Fenton vase was a keeper. It is retired now. It really is quite beautiful and only one of two Fenton pieces I own. Not that I wouldn't like more, but, hmmm.....kinda pricey!!
My little snowmen are soon to go into hybernation.....so I wanted to share. I should get out the Valentine's....I really SHOULD!

Hmmmm.......
What can I talk about today? The weather here is fabulous. I feel good, thank you Jesus! We did a little yard work over the weekend. I didn't take pics yet of my estate sale finds. I changed our bed today...washed the sheets....you know.... Hmmmm, uh, I think I am boring!
Well, I picked up this little faux boxwood wreath for my patio at Garden Ridge a couple of weeks ago. 70 percent off Christmas....but hey, it doesn't look Christmas to me!
I called my son and said "I haven't heard from you."
He said, "Mom, when I call, you tell me the same things."
Me: "Sorry, that is as exciting as it gets here!"
My husband: "What, you want the Rockettes here?"

So this is What I Bought!
When I go to a store, my hubby usually takes me. He is real good about it....but you know how it is....you don't really need this or that.....
Well, yesterday when Candy and I went shopping I asked if we could just stop at HL. I knew what I wanted and I wasn't going to be talked out of it! Good thing we went when we did. It was the last one!
I found the crochet collar at an estate sale quite a while back.
I put on my old 1928 jewelry....see the evelope one....it has a stamp from the 80's when I bought it.
I think even the base is cute! I am so tickled....I knew she would look cute in there!!
Then at Garden Ridge....I did really good and only bought one absolutely necessary item!
Do you see it??
My new little gnome. Squeal, squeal!! (I think I must need help!)
Yes, that is my Geraniums....they are really pretty right now....(sorry snow people....it is in the high 70s and I for one, am LOVING it!

When Girlfriends get Together they.....
A. Go Shopping
B. Eat Lunch
C. Talk and Talk
D. All of the Above
My friend Candy and I got together today. She came out to Mesa and left it up to me to figure out what to do. I hit a homerun....or maybe I should say a touchdown!!
We went to Garden Ridge. Mesa has the only one in AZ...so far! She loved it! We looked at almost everything.
Then we went into HL for me to pick something up. I will show you that later.
Followed all that by lunch at a new place I discovered. It is called Inside the Bungalow. It was adorable and the food was beyond delicious. We had soup and sandwiches.
Here are some pictures!
Old coffee grinder.
The one side with painted cement walls.
I tried so hard to get this.....it is the bottom half of the wall in the ladies restroom....pattern pieces.
One of the inside dining rooms. We ate outside though.
This is one of the outdoor tables.
Candy loved this tree. I am not sure what it is, but these were the flowers.
My friend Candy.
Another old coffee grinder.
What a wonderful day.....including a call from my doctor....my CA125 went down another 1500 points!
