Easter 2014

My husband and I are preparing for Easter Sunday.  Our family will be here enjoying time together and remembering what Jesus has done for us.  We enjoy all the colored eggs, peeps, deviled eggs and ham....all the fun traditions of Easters past.  I want to wish all of you a wonderful Easter weekend.  I pray that along with the fun, you and your family will take time to praise our Lord and Saviour.  HE has provided a way of escape and a future of eternal life for those who trust in Him.

Notecard Party!

Number 9 and the White Hat Story

Most of you guessed, but my hat was number 9!  I put doilies, burlap, lace, nest ,feathers....

I promised Nana Diana that I would tell the story of the white hat.

The lady who brought this hat made it with her sister.  They were visiting and she told her sister about the contest.  The sister said, "Let's make one out of mom's old hat."  They picked the white hat and went through their mom's old silk flower collection.  They had never made a hat before, and they giggled and chatted away.
Two days later this ladies sister passed away unexpectedly.  It is the last time they spent together, saw each other....making the hat.

Yes, we were all in tears.

Our community had a luncheon for the ladies and they had a decorated hat contest....
I thought you would enjoy seeing the creations....

There were 3 catagories....Most beautiful, most creative, most nostalgic.

Before/After and a Little Blog Story

Since I found the beautiful new buffet, I told my hubby I wanted a new little table.  The one I have was left here by the previous owner.  It is cute, but really unstable.

So yesterday morning while I was blogging....I met Lisa from Texas Decor.  I saw exactly what I wanted.  So I asked her, but in the meantime I was thinking....that looks like Kirkland to me.  So I went to their website and yep, there it was......I called MY Kirkland and they had it!  I had chemo to get to, so I asked my husband to drive me by before chemo and that they were holding it for me.

After he put it together for me....hubby says...you were right....that is the perfect table for there!

Bentley - My Easter Bunny

Candy bought me a cement Bentley last Christmas.....

I saw the ears at the Dollar Tree and I simply could NOT resist!

This cracked me up.....while I was outside doing this.....the real Bentley was doing this....

April's Fresh Cut Friday

I am joining my dear friend Liz for her monthly Fresh Cut Friday.

I purchased the Daffodils at TJ's and they lasted over a week.  They are beautiful.

Are you purging again, Ceekay?

Looking at my dining room table you would think that.....

And trust me, I could purge again.....Things tend  to multiply here all on there own!!  Do you ever notice that at your home?

But no, no purging......I made something!  Oh I know, a day late and a dollar short....but I still did it!!

 (Please ignore the horrible gutters....they are my neighbor's, not mine! She has just moved in and hasn't got around to painting them yet.)

My new neighbor came over and said, "ooh, I like this.....and look what I bought at Michaels?"

It was the mama birdie!!

She insisted I had to have her....So she is watching from the birdbath!  What ever am I going to do when it is 115 and everything is dead again....I so LOVE this time of year.....Really, I need to quit, the yard is only so big..(although our yard is large!)  I always tell my girlfriends....if I die before my husband, you better get your butt over here....cuz, this "junk" as he calls it.....is going on the curb!

Busy Weekend

You never know what the weekend will bring.  Unfortunately for me, they are about to really change as my husband's shift is changing.  You don't want me to start on that......however this weekend we went to our estate sale-ing travels and Lookie what I got!!

This hutch is fabulous.  Why no one got it before me is beyond me except that the Lord kept it for me!  I wasn't even looking for one, but this one said take me home.  It is solid wood, gorgeous, and $100.00.  If you count the money I got for the old one, which sold right away, it was only 50.00!  I am in LOVE!

I also made a doily banner for our guest room.  This is the one with the 4 poster bed.  I think it is so cute in there.
