Silver Sunday on Valentine's Day!

This post is going to be a bit crazy...but hey, it is Valentine's day, and I am in LOVE!

First I thought I would show my birdcage....$1.00 at garage sale...it was ugly mint green...so out came the spray paint....see the ivy...keep that thought!

Today is Silver Sunday at Gypsy Fish....I found this sweet silver dish at Big Lots for $2.00...so I could not resist...hubby contributed the chocolate strawberries....I'd offer you one, but, uh, they got ate!

He also brought me a sweet little heart cake.....I put it on our tray from our wedding with my silver cake server. I also love the wrought iron heart napkin ring...I have four...I found 2!

I thought I better show my xoxo on my front door...I kinda forgot about this....I found at Michaels this year. I think it is soooo cute.

So what did I get for Valentine's day????

Nope, not kidding. My husband says "nothing says lovin like a new set of 4!"

But I did get a wonderful card......

I love it! and him!

Ok, and the ivy...well, I have had this light pole for 3 years...I always add new silk flowers for the different holidays and seasons...you have seen it in precious posts....but NO MORE...
My beloved HOA (a little sarcasm here) decided that I was a BADDDDDD homeowner and fined me $50.00 for silk flowers. They were loving (oops) to give me 10 days to correct the illegal action. I am sure you agree with me, it looks so much better now empty....because we wouldn't want to offend anyone with silk flowers!!! (cuz real ones do real well here in AZ, oh oh, there I go again!) So, let's see if I get fined for the ivy in the birdcage.....that is up near my house on the table.... and again, I say, my headstone???? WHATEVER!!

Ok, enough of that....I hope you all are having a love filled day with those you love and making memories!!

Playing with Paper!

I thought I would be creative today and make a page to frame for Valentine's Day. The card is a copy of a vintage card my dad gave to my mom many moons ago! I just used what I had....and put this together. I am quite pleased with it and can't wait to get to the Dollar Tree to find a frame for it.

These are the darling dominoe necklaces I learned how to make from our Sherry, Country Wings in Phoenix.

This sweet thing is going to my Granddaughter for Valentine's Day!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Love on those close to you! What a fantstic holiday to take time to share our love!!

Red glass bird - CB last year
Beaded Heart Coasters - Kroger last year
Heart glasses - Kroger this year
Little glass candles - Target after Christmas 2008
Rose handled server , heart shaped candles- have no idea...several years old....
Hope you enjoy my tablescape this week....
I also will be joining Bargain Hunting with Laurie for the the Valentine Party! Lots of fun this week!!

What a Mess!

Our computer is shot...I am using my laptop right now. Our hard drive died. I have no pictures on this laptop...so I don't know if I can do any of the parties...I will try today to see what I can do.
Found out that backing up your computer is only good if the new computer has the program to read it....All my docs are Microsoft word....the computers so far don't have that included and it is costly on top of a new computer to get it....Uggggggg!

I will try to visit all of you. Don't forget me while I am away.....it will be a few weeks probably before I am up and running as before....but we will see.

We got the dreaded blue screen of death on our computer. I have no idea when or if it can be fixed. I will be back when I can. I am not happy!

Silver Sunday #6

I am a little sad here. Our first round of Silver Sunday is drawing to a close. Probably a good thing in a way...as I am out of silver polish and will have to get more before our next meeting. I want to thank Beth at Gypsy Fish for such a fun meme. And the funnest thing I believe for me is that so many of the ladies visited and left comments. We all found out just how much we love that shiney...or maybe tarnished silver!!

My hubby bought this for me last fall at CB. The handle and the knife are silver. Too cute to use I say...so I leave it in the plate stand on the counter!

These are my sweet Valentine envelopes that Sherry and I made on our craft day...they look so pretty in my big Silver tray. This is another wedding gift....that was stashed away!

I use this little sugar and creamer all the time. It is from Pottery Barn and I just thought it was so cute a few Christmas' ago, that I treated myself! I love how it stacks.

I KNOW I saw so many of these cake servers on the blogs...and I knew I had one and ta da...I finally found it! But it doesn't say Merry Christmas.

I got these 2 sweet spoons at an estate sale for 50 cents each. I was hoping that one would work in that Mustard jar...but nope, too big!

This was the BEST find of the estate sale. This precious baby spoon and fork. Candy found it and I was so excited because it is either the pattern or very close to the pattern of my Grandma's everyday silverware. These are treasures!

Honestly, I do have a few more things that I could show, but I will save them for our next party! Until then...happy Silver Hunting!!

Bloggers...this is so Great!

I just have got to share this for Show and Tell at Cindy's this week.

I am sure some of you have heard about this, but the Cutest Blog on the Block has a new feature where you can have your blog made into a book. I have wanted this since I started blogging. I told my hubs and he definately wanted me to do it.

It wasn't cheap....but it is beautiful and worth every penny to me. I cried when it came in. You know our blogs are a lot of work...and it is amazing how it feels to hold it in book form. I did my book by the year...so I still have to order 2009. The only thing I would do different per my hubby, is to order the hard cover. I thought I would try to save some money, but I think it would be so much nicer in hard back.

I would encourage you to consider doing this. It is something to always have and your words and thoughts to pass to future generations.

One note...any moving pictures or slides...will not transfer over.... and the cost is determined by the size of the book. Mine is 224 pages.

Just Feel like Chatting!

I went to the movies with my husband yesterday. Our kind of date...I go see my movie, he goes sees his! I saw When In Rome. I don't recommend it. It should have been a made for TV movie. It was cute but poorly done, I thought. Anyways, I love to see the upcoming clips. And guess what is coming out??? Alice in Wonderland. Whoopee. Nope, I won't be seeing that one.
Never read it, never saw it. Why you ask.
Let me tell you!

It scares the living daylights out of me! Now, don't be surprised. I also have never seen in entirety, the Wizard of Oz. Don't like that either. Oh, I have tried. It was just on again. I can watch it until Dorothy is in Oz...she isn't in Kansas, and I isn't in the same room! I don't know if it the flying monkeys, or the melting witch...but NO!

Now, I know this may come as a surprise to some of you. But this doesn't come as a surprise to me. When I was young and I had to leave the house...ie, school, spending the night away...I turned all my dolls to face the wall. My mom asked me why I did that...my reply was, "I don't want them talking while I am away!"

So you see, this is not new. My husband to this day when I see something incredible on TV...and I say, how could that happen? He says....Hon, it is a movie...it isn't real!

Ok, all you smarties that think I have issues!!!! You have them too...you just haven't mentioned them YET!

Silver Sunday #5

This is either an issue of unorganization, or forgetfulness. Yes, AGAIN, I found more silver in my home. Even my friend of 35 years, Ro, said, "I didn't know you had so much silver". Neither did I!
It is so funny. I will think, oh, what about???? Then I get up and go digging. My husband says, what silver are you looking for now?

This is my son's baby cup. I never had it engraved. And I STILL want to do that! Those by the way, are my shoes from, well, let's just say they are olden!!

See this odd thing? It is real silver...but what do I do with it???

I serve petit fours when I have some girlfriend's over!

This is not real silver, but chrome again...I treasure this as it was my Grandma's. It is clearly Art Deco....

See the bakelite handle??

This Hershey Kiss is not real, chocolate that is. It is a weighted balloon holder. These were on the tables with balloons for our 25th Wedding Anniversary.

These are so wonderful.....

silverware holders for a buffet. I use these alot, since most holidays, I serve buffet style.

I just love Silver Sunday at Gypsy Fish. I so look forward to it each week and seeing everyone's silver. And the ladies that participate are so good about visiting...I love that!
