Merry Christmas Blog Friends

Edited:  My husband brought me this gorgeous poinsettia.  It is called Ice Pick.  I just love it!

First of all I want to thank you for your prayers for Kathy and her family.  Please feel free to leave messages for her here as I want to send them on to her.  If you haven't read my previous post please do and remember this family at this time.  Because of all that has happened I have decided to do my last post for Christmas now.  I just need some time to try and gather my emotions for my family on Saturday.  I am sure you all understand.
I truly hope that you all have a wonderful, fun-filled, love filled Christmas day!  I plan on enjoying the time with my little family as well.  I hope that Santa leaves something special under the tree for each of you!!
I saw a sign at Kirklands that I wish I would have bought...but didn't....but it said
"We say Merry Christmas here!"

So Merry Christmas and remember Jesus is the Reason for the Season!!!

Prayers still needed....

Jenni passed away early this morning.  I cannot even begin to tell you the devastation this family is going through.  Jenni was 29 years old.  This was her first child.
Please pray for this family.  Kathy and her family love the Lord, but right now they just are spinning from the shock and despair of this.  Jacob is a young father now, without his wife.
Also pray for Jenni's family.  Hearts are broken.  We know that the Lord is the healer of broken hearts.

My husband and I are so sad for our dear friends.  There just are no words.  It is especially difficult during this Christmas time.

Thank you already for your prayers on their behalf.  I will try to keep you updated.

Prayer needed desperately!

Many of you remember my friend Kathy from Mimi's Garden.  She blogged for awhile.  Her son and his wife went in to the hospital yesterday to deliver their first child.  Jenni suffered an embryo tic embolism during labor and had cardiac arrest.  They had to do an emergency C section and then emergency heart surgery on Jenni.  The outlook for Jenni does not look good, in fact, the doctors give no hope, but we know we have a mighty God.  Kathy begs you to pray for Jenni and their son Jacob.  The family is devastated and are all in shock.  The baby, a little girl, survived the ordeal and is healthy.

I am so sorry to bring such sad news right before Christmas, but I know that the prayer warriors in blogland will bring this family before the throne of God.  I will keep you posted as I hear.  Thank you so much.....

Christmas Tablescape

Today is Whassup Wednesday at Kara's.  I thought I would show my tablescape for Christmas dinner.  In real, we won't eat at the table on Christmas.  We graze....I set up a buffet and everyone can nibble on whatever they want.  But I have enjoyed this tablescape.

The dishes are from after Christmas sales the past two years...Target.  Red goblets are also from Target.  The big red hurricane is from Kirkland as is the gold chargers.  I just love red and gold together for the holidays.

Merry Christmas!

A Sweet Gift....

Today I got such a pleasant surprise in the mailbox.  I know I have told you about my Aunt Barbara.  She is like a second mom to me.  She has had her battle with broken hips the last few years and lost my uncle after 62 years of marriage a couple years back.  She is slowing down and doesn't get out as much as she used to.  I always send her an ornament for her Christmas tree each year.  She has a helper that puts it up each year and I tell her she needs a new ornie each year!

Well this year she surprised me!
She sent me these sweet little crystal snowman earrings.

I tell you this is just such a precious treat for me.  She must have found them at a little store in town that she goes to occasionally.  They are a treasure to me, as she is!

SnOw.....are you ready?

Doctors appointments Monday and Tuesday.  Then I can just sit and relax...wait for the BIG day!  Isn't it funny how much we do to get ready?  The decorating, the shopping, the wrapping, the food....and I don't know about your house, but everything on Christmas day is pretty much done by like 2:00 in the afternoon.  But I wouldn't have it any other way!!!

This snowman my hubs found me about 3 years ago after Christmas.  The little snowflake candle holder my son bought me when he was about 16 years old.  I thought they were perfect together.  For you button lovers....don't you just love his heart buttons?  I never light him....he gets wrapped up in tissue and stored carefully for next year.

I am so behind in showing Christmas decorations.  It may take me to the middle of January....but I will try not to do that!!! Talk to you all soon.  Take time to enjoy.....and remember the Reason for the Season!

Annual Christmas Tea with my friend Candy..

Every year my good friend Candy and I go to tea for Christmas.  We thought we would try a new place this year in Mesa.  When we walked in we were pleasantly surprised at how cute the tearoom was.  Definately Victorian and very quaint.

Has anyone see a sugar scuttle like this?  It is a bee.....

The table was set with a complete set of these beautiful dishes.
This was our sandwich tray...which looked beautiful.
Unfortunately that was as good as it got.  The meal was not that good and we could not get a pot of hot tea to save our life.  I didn't even bother with the sad little desserts.
I was very sad as tearooms are becoming few and far between and I hoped that this would be great.
We did exchange Christmas presents.  I will show you another time what an absolutely fabulous, check off my wish list, gift Candy gave me.
This was the bow....isn't it cute with the sweet doilies?
We smiled for the camera even though we didn't really want to pay for the food!!
We already decided....we are going to the Phoenician next year!  We hear that is fabulous!

World's Greatest Greatest

There once was a little girl who was a Daddy's girl and a BIT spoiled.  Daddy would take her shopping and always found some little thing for her to have.  In 1962 this little girl and her daddy walked to a store on Van Dyke road in Warren Michigan.  She saw this little Santa and wanted him soooo much.  So of course, Daddy bought it for her.  They didn't know that this shopping trip was one of the few last fun times spent together.  Her daddy died right before Christmas the following year.  Every year since, this Santa ornament has a place of honor among the decorations.  He is showing his age.  But no ornament will ever be as precious to that little girl....

My Daddy has been in Heaven for 47 years now.  Unfortunately, I don't remember much about my dad.  I was 9 when he died, but 8 when he got sick.  I spent a lot of my time at my Aunt's....but I remember that he loved me.  I just treasure this ornament.  I bet you have ornaments with stories too!!
